unitedHeroes.net presents:

How To Buy Our Friendship

We know what you're thinking.

You're thinking, "How can I get involved with unitedHeroes.net? Chicks dig them!"

Well, you're in luck, although pre-adolescent poultry usually "scratch" more than dig, we know you're eager to secure your feifdom in our tiny empire. So how does one go about doing that?

Actually, it's surprisingly simple really.

Level Three: Fan

What do I have to do?

This is the easiest level, much like getting on TV by jumping up and down and waving your hand at the camera. To do this, simply include a link to unitedHeroes.net. (Oh, and you may want to send a message to one of us as well saying you did it)

What's in it for me?

Our gratitude, and if you're site is particularly traffic heavy enjoyable we'll add a cross link back from the top page of unitedHeroes.net. (woo-hoo! Higher Google rankings!)

Level Two: Friend of unitedHeroes (FUH)

What do I have to do?

This level actually requires a bit more work, but you get more for it. Basically, you get a bit more "on-camera" time as you describe what quiet neighbors we were and how we never seemed like ones to do that sort of thing. Granted, it's not much, but at least the camera isn't trying to pan off of you like it is that idiot jumping up and down, waving in the background.

It involves the following:

1. You must produce a regularly updated work of entertainment (Fiction, art, music, photo-journalism, psychotic rambling, whatever). Regularly updated is sort of up to you, but prefereably something more often than once every four months. There can be some exceptions to this, but really what it comes down to is "Can you keep an audience?"

2. You must be established. By established, we mean have more than one or two episodes/chapters/songs, etc. Again, if your work shows exceptional promise we're willing to waive that one as well.

3. At least one unitedHeroes.net member must vouch that your series is one that he or she would read regularly. Although it's not required that a member be a drooling fan, or even a regular reader, it has to be something that we feel is enjoyable.

4. The site must be willing to post a "Friend of UH.net" logo in a prominent position that links back to unitedHeroes.net. Here are a few samples:

Needless to say, if none of these work, let JR know and he'll try to work out something.

5. The work must be approved by a majority of unitedHeroes.net members.

What's in it for me?

Well, you get a free ad-free forum, and some reasonably cheap promotion, and whatever other crap we can think of. Plus as we grow our tiny empire to nearly significant proportions, you'll be higher up the food chain, so to speak.

Level One: Member

Ah, the vaulted ranks, Membership in unitedHeroes.net. Joining the League of Lunacy. It's every child's dream, until they wake up screaming.

What do I have to do?

Pretty much the same junk that the FUH guys do with a few notable exceptions:

1. Quality. It's gotta be good. It doesn't have to be professional, but it's gotta look like this is something that you've put a bit of effort into. Likewise it's also gotta be entertaining.

3. At least one current member must read the work regularly, not just vouch for it as something he or she *would* read.

4. You must be willing to place a "UH Member" button in a promient location -or- place the unitedHeroes.net TidBot on the page. Personally, I'd prefer the TidBot since this gives everyone (including yourself) a chance to pimp equally, but it's your call.

What's in it for me?

Well, you get a forum, ad-free email address if you want it, aliased link from the main site (e.g. http://www.unitedheroes.net/{whatever}) as well as a prominent main site link, email aliases, lots of promotion, insertion into the tidbot, potential cross-overs, and all sorts of general joy and happiness.
