Billy and his parents lived at the end of Rosetta drive in a run down aluminum trailer, the kind with the propane tank on the back and the two foot-tall crawlspace underneath where the dogs would hide from the summer heat. _________________ Shihan of Martial Arts Sandwich Making and author of Christopher Ford, Amateur Paranormalist |

It was just as well they'd topped off their gas tank the other week, what with the aliens taking out all the gas stations downtown. |

Mind you, otherwise, they were nice enough folk, always with a wave and a smile as they drove by in their massive hovertanks, but Billy knew he wouldn't be inviting him to the Church dinner any time soon. _________________ The Grayhound Chronicles

Besides, Gran'ma swore that, bein' from Jupiter or Neptune or wherever, they were more'n likely Lutherans, or maybe Methodists. _________________ Shihan of Martial Arts Sandwich Making and author of Christopher Ford, Amateur Paranormalist |

He knew where the dogs were, of course, since it was hard not to notice the three hundred meter radio transmitter dish they'd built out of squeeky toys and Beggin' Strips next to the kennel, but that didn't mean he'd be as foolish as ol' man McGurt was and actually go for a look at what they were up to. _________________ The Grayhound Chronicles

| "I s'pose that them dang dawgs called them dang aliens down upon us", said gramps once more, and got out his shotgun; granma tried to stop him again, but this time it was futile. |

Bill knew better'n to try and talk Grandpa down from a caffeine high, even if the shotgun was unloaded; besides, no sense walking into the radioactive wastes just to save a dog or two. _________________ Shihan of Martial Arts Sandwich Making and author of Christopher Ford, Amateur Paranormalist |

Gran'pa raised his shotgun and shouted something incomprehensible as the blinding bolt of energy reduced him to a pile of ash right next to the pile that had previously been ol' man McGurt. _________________ The Grayhound Chronicles

Billy sighed, "Gran'pa, you knew them dogs had a mean streak..." _________________ The Grayhound Chronicles

| Good thing then that the cats didn't matter anymore - they hadn't been seen since the unfortunate incident with the appletree, the tomato soup and the stepladder. |

| "Oh dang," moaned Billy, "of course gramps had to take the remote control with him. Anybody want to retrieve it?" |

Billy looked down from the stump he was sitting on at the twins, who both shrugged and went back to playing with dirt, as unwilling to get involved as Billy was; besides, Gran'ma had a few of Gramps in deep freeze and Billy had an appointment at the orange grove. _________________ Shihan of Martial Arts Sandwich Making and author of Christopher Ford, Amateur Paranormalist |
