#1. <a href="http://www.unitedheroes.net/grayhound/year3/chap62.html">New chapter</a>.
#2. I wrote it today, with no real clue how anything was supposed to work out.
#3. Ok, that's a lie. I knew how two things were going to work out.
#4. They weren't supposed to work out that way, but it's close enough that I'm not going to argue about it.
#5. I've absolutely no idea what happens next.
#6. Yep, he's really dead, gone, left the building, ne'er to walk this path ag'n, etc.
#7. Absolutely no idea when the next chapter goes up.
#8. I'm betting I hit 101 before JIM does.
#9. Yes I'm aware of the fact that Steve hit 101 a while ago, (and is actually somewhere around 130 or so) that's a detail.
#10. Belly button lint tastes funny.
#11. Me go sleepies now...

Very nice chapter. That kick off the mortal coil is bound to end in chaos though.

Oh well. And what's with the lithp at the end?

(Oh, and you need to link to the GC main page, too, from the single chapters.)

Paint on the Tailgate is one of my favorite John Cougar songs.

Excellent...good to see more Grayhound churning out-please keep up the good work.

Could you by any chance try a email chain that emails you when there's a new Grayhound? It would help a lot.

Thanks,
Ghostbear

P.S. Try a - to indicate a new speaker-down here in the south, double indentions are apprently considered a no-no (Why?thats a very good question for which I have no answer. I found out about it in an email to a Texan friend...)

You know, there actually is a list around somewhere that I created for such stuff, the only problem being that whenever I do a new chapter, I've got to update:

The chapter list
The top rant
Kimmie's Story so Far (although she's been a total slacker)
The tidbot
The forums
and make sure the RSS feed gets updated.

Granted, throwing an email notification on top of that pile probably wouldn't be that bad of an idea.

To be honest, I really don't expect folks to check more than once a week.

As for the indention thing? Oh, don't worry. I know exactly what kind of typographic nightmares it inspires. I'm quite sure that if I ever showed that little convention to anyone who actually read Strunk & White or was in any way responsible for professional layout, their heads would undoubtedly explode.

The sad thing is that I still rather like it. Probably because I spend so much time writing code that weird indentations are second nature to me. Plus it could get weird when someone interrupts.

    So we're agreed then?

    - I suppose.

-- Well, I don't. Having three speakers with no clear definition of speach is confusing.

    - Potentially, but do we really have to add in "the third guy said?" It seems like literary cole slaw.

    Cole slaw?

    - Yeah, shreaded extra bits added in that no sane person would actually try to eat.

    I eat cole slaw.

-- So do I. My mama made the best cole slaw.

    - You ever eat at Waffle House?

    Ah, good point.

But won't that still be confusing?

    -How so?

Well, you said that you had Tour--

    -ELVIS!!

    --ette's syndrome.

    - You told him? How could you?

-- I did not! It was an em-dash, not a dobule hyphen. See? No space!

    -SON OF A BITCH!

    Hey now.

    - No, sorry, just the Tourette's.

Still, advice taken, and I'll see if there's anything I can work out, notification wise.

Huzzah! an' stuff.

Just makes me wonder how much my parents know but aren't letting on. Like, do they know about my secret plans to turn the entire world into a giant cabbage? Or maybe that I know the seven secret spices in KFC? Or maybe I'm just paranoid.

They still aren't getting the grand tour of the underground lab though.

Once I gave up trying to follow the ramble on relativity, I really enjoyed the story. Everything tied up neat, even if the scene with his father did seem a little awkward. The Tony talking to radio, and the Professor/Gilligan's Island was priceless.

yours,

Maracus

Heh.

I kinda liked the relativity ramble, but then I was probably drunk at the time, and I will forever be a horrific science nerd.

Thanks!

I didn't say that I didn't like the relativity ramble, but I found myself wondering if I actually needed to understand what you were talking about if the rest of the story was going to make sense(didn't really have to). That and the meaning of life song from Monty Python kept interjecting in my head.

yours,

Maracus
