I've fired my associate editor(wife), and have decided to stick with my original editor for now(Naaratio). He's looking through the story now, and we'll try and have something put together sooner rather than later.

On to the next topic. I have an idea that's been kicking around a couple of months, and wanted to give it a test fly here first. I need a touch of audience participation. I'd like you to take a peek at your local newspaper and read the headline. Post just the headline in the forum and I want to see if I can't cobble something together from the collected headlines.

Just a notion,

WhadjathinK?

Ah yes, my tried and true method of pure silly.
Well, here's the latest i've got:

<a href="http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/11045179.htm">'Hobbit' brain backs species theory</a>

My other source of choice is the <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=index&cid=757">Oddly Enough</a> section,

This one seems a good fit for this audience:

Government must 'take stand on evil': mother of RCMP officer says

Dead Mounties, Canada in search of hero. Sounds like a rallying cry for HG.

Edit:
Sorry, that sounds kind of cold. I do feel bad for the guy, but that kind of headline just needed to posted around here.

Particularly if evil is in a small crate that scoots around like a malevolent box turtle.

Nah, sadly, such danger is part of the job. Those guys are heroes every single day. (Well, except when they get Texas Rangers to hand out speeding tickets just outside of Vancouver, but that's beside the point)

My local newspaper is in Thai... But wait! The Bangkok Post is currently slid under my "Hooters Slide Better" mouse mat. (Don't ask okay?)

Side Headline, Feb 27th is "New virus from monkeys found in hunters from Cameroon".

Stop eating the monkeys comes the call!

I'm flying back to Kazakhstan tomorrow. Apparently Atyrau Airways took up a collection and managed to pay thier fuel bills at Istanbul airport. Now if only they can find thier spare engine for the TU-134 I'll be supposedly flying.

I've got monkey virus, and RCMP killings. I can try and use those, but I think I'm going to have to pass on the pure silly I got from TA, I'm actually looking for front page news on regular newspapers. More submissions will be required yet I think. On the better side of things I've gotten the edited story back and will give it a read through before I submit it to....who do I submit it to for UH author revision and editing?

yours,

Maracus

Probably me, since I'm the guy that usually winds up actually publishing things.

That explains why, when I submit my stuff to Larry, the drunk hobo who lives in the hallway of my building, it never gets published.

Dammit. Wish someone would explain these things to me.

I think Larry must not have recieved the memo telling him about this. Ask Bob, the one legged drunk who lives beside your dumpster, for a copy of Memo GC-7101 dated last February. That'll explain the procedure I'm sure.
He's also good for rubber bands, spit wads and incoherent mumbling if you're running low.
