Sorry to bother you guys, but the little idiot counter at the bottom of the main page is telling me that there were 37 people logged onto this playpen on 18th Nov. I was here and... I didn't see them.

Can you get ghosts in the machine?

While the software valiantly tries to count, unfortunately it gets distracted by shiny things.

I have a feeling that the bulk of those visitors were bots and other miscreants.

That or we're an absolute hit with mimes.

Somehow I don't think the Mimes would appreciate the humour. But could this have become the new meeting point for the Professional Lurking Society?

There'd have to be money involved if it was a 'Professional' lurking socity now wouldn't there?

I vote angsty teenagers. Goths seems so poltically incorrect now a days.
In a another arbitrary topic change, when did it come into fashion to wear several pounds of metal on your pants?

LOOSE pants.

It may be been started with punk and thier bike chains and body piercing. I think Goth is an outgrowth between them and the New Romantics...

While I am not opposed to effiminate anime girly boys on a general whole, I'm much confused by the emulation of their look as a fashion statement. In particular, I'm rendered dumbstruck by the legions of anorexic Cloud Strife wannabes that litter the malls up here. It's getting so you can't swing devil duckie without hitting at least three waifish girlie boys with spikey hair, mesh shirts, and buckley chainy bondage pants. Don't get me wrong, the whole Goth Droogie thing is kinda sexy on Japanese rock stars, but on American kids it's just unsettling. I'm just wondering when Hot Topic went from Marilyn Manson T-shirts to Final Fantasy Chic.

I've run into my share of goth, but if goth is going jap-punk I'm officially worried. I thought it was strange when someone asked me where they could find a copy of the Gothic Lolita Bible. But dressing up like final fantasy? That's just wrong.

The goth's that I know go for the piercing because of the pain rush. They just keep saving up money for that next piercing, a few of them let the piercings grow in, then have the same piercing done again later. I can't say I want to get pierced, but I understand what they're going for, I just find my rush in other ways.

I find my rushes in safe ways. Like leaning back in the chair until I almost tip over and then catching myself real quick. That's a rush. I'm a real T-type. Yup.

My rushes are either brought on by sitting up quickly after an afternoon slouched on the couch with chips and beer or suddenly discovering that my 3 year old daughter is no longer playing in the garden and the gate is open.

Of course the second is more of a "family sized" rush that all can appreciate.

The third rush is when she's discovered wading in the rice paddy on the other side of the road and you can see the watery vee shape of a cobra heading away from her noisy splashings. Oh yes, I have rushes all right.

Thinking about it the beer and chips thing is more like heartburn (Edit 2)

(Edit for spelling)
